NT Scan

So today was Squirts First trimester screening. Let me just tell you that I have been an absolute nervous wreck for the last two weeks.

On the drive there I was just trying to keep myself focused on driving and not the fact that I was running late, that it was raining and that I was freaking out mentally trying to prepare myself for whatever news was about to head my way.

So I got to the office, they took me into the ultra sound room and my heart dropped into my butt when I didn't see the wiggly bouncing squirt I had seen 3 weeks earlier. I quickly scanned for a HB. I didn't see the beautiful flicker and started to get a panic attack :(

Then the u/s tech turned on the heartbeat speaker thing and I heard the most amazing sound. I burst into tears. For the first time I heard squirts heartbeat. Squirt started dancing and wiggling, punching and kicking. I felt so dumb but felt so much relief. Thanks for scaring the shit out of me, squirt!

The tech had a hard time getting squirt to cooperate for the nt scan. Finally squirt sat still for a second so she could snap a picture. She hopes it will be good enough to determine results from.

Now, I'm currently sitting in the patient exam room waiting for the rest of my appt to commence. Phew.

U/s tech said the placenta is at the top, that HB is 165, spine looks great and what looks like a cute little button nose. Lol.

Update 1: ok. So just talked to the doctor.

She said squirts neck measurements were beautiful. Yay!! She said everything with squirt looks good but the SCH is still there. It is smaller than it was which is great news but not completely healed like the tech said. :( oh well. I'll take progress over no change any day! She also said I'm off of pelvic rest for now! <3
She is also changing my meds from fenagrin (sp) to zofran.

They also took 8 vials of blood!! Wowzers. No cookies were given either. I had a small sad. Lol

That's all for now. :) Only sad thing is my next appointment isn't until march and we won't get bloodwork results for 7-14 days. ;/
